And some of the LED bulbs that I have installed I've already replaced multiple times. I've had LED's burn out in just a few months and sometimes weeks. They are definitely not everlasting.

In a capitalist economy, it’s not desirable nor practical to have such businesses. To have a sustainable economy you’d need to evolve from the capitalist economy to something else.

  • This is a great video but there is one thing you missed. And that's the fact that today the average person will not take care of their product and hint make it obsolete faster than it really should. I have an iPhone 6s and it's 6years old and still runs perfectly fine. That's because I didn't let it fall 24/7 of the time nor did I try to put it in water XD. We can't only blame companies for Human error. People are dumb and ignorant they make things break then blame others and that is something you missed in the video.

  • They have built obsolescence into LED light bulbs. They over drive the LEDs causing them to run hot and burn out faster. Look into the Arabic light bulbs where they have twice as many led's running at half the power causing them to run cooler and last much much much longer.

  • One thing people usually leave out from documentaries about this topic i that sometimes things are designed "weaker" just to keep the price low. Anyone can buy a printer which can be repaired and has a long lifespan, but those cost several times more. So for use at home the cheap one is enough. Otherwise good episode and the right to repair is one of the best messages to have nowadays. I usually work on my own car with regular checkups at the mechanic, and I wouldn't buy a modern European car. Hope they make good EVs with repairability in mind soon, instead of gadgets on wheels like Tesla.
