Thank you

Love my 19 250tpi. Its more fun than my old 300. SM build planned for it
Really interesting review. Thanks
Great video 👍🏼
ive just come across your channel, wicked stuff! Curious how you get on the road legalities, i.e insurance tax and MOT? Specifically for MX or enduro bikes
Just found this video and I am a bit confused how you can review an enduro bike without going off-road??? Did you do another video on the dirt?
I know it primarilya dirt bije but do these come with a fuel gauge and speedometer? havnt seen one up close yet
Buying advice in terms or pure fun factor: 250 tpi or 500 exc-f?
Just wanted to say thanks for doing this video, it's good to see the 2-stroke still lives on. Just hope they can cover Euro5.
Is it road legal bike ? I love that sound
I love 2 strokes but this guy know nothing he is saying all the wrong stuff
No engine braking? Even with TPI? could you please explain?
Can you ride a 2T long distance?
Please define long distance. Full day riding in woods sure.
Why the hell they took so much to make TPI!? Finally a 2 stroke which you don’t need to worry with engine braking and should maybe even last longer. Unfortunately for a 31 inch inseam its a tall bike
HOT Carburetion: Is the new STIC system better than fuel injection? Yes! Dick and Jane like fast two strokes; they are really impressed with the Keihin with STIC insert. Jane says to Spot; WOW, see Dick [John] run; Dick [John] is very fast. See the STIC insert work; Dick [John] is very fast on his STIC equipped Keihin carburetor. Jane and Spot are happy that John is wicked fast on his Husqvarna 300. Jane and Spot think John’s bike is on Steroids [STIC]. To see John go very fast click on this video below to see John accelerate; he is very happy and very fast on his STIC Rapid Transit System. Jane and Spot are happy that John is not on steroids; that it is a Keihin carburetor that is on STIC steroids. For details see the following video: Husqvarna 300 fiboth.info/like/videot/eWdtp5i-2rDGp38
Brill vid tbh and no shit music 👍🇬🇧
Did you go to art collage?
Have you had a chance to test the 300 tpi? I hear it has more low end power.
No not yet CC but sure it would have more usable power and torque. I've just bought my own 500 exc six days to do an SM convertion on, I thought about getting the tpi but I want wheelie hooligan fun and the two strokes are much harder to control once the wheel is up as no engine braking. I know lots of oil changes but it's very easy to do and the bike only holds 1.2 liters so oil cost is low anyway.
Please review the 300TPI, I am very interested to see what you think of the extra 50cc. Great job, keep up the great work!
It's the end of march 2018 and still no 300 tpi review. I've bought one now but still very interested in your opinion on the 300 compared to the 250. Plus, find yourself some green lanes and have a go. It'll improve your road skills no end. Love your videos 👍
I'm liking it a lot. It's like riding a lightweight turbocharged 4 stroke enduro bike. It has the goodness of a four stroke, well mannered tractor like low down grunt but has a nice 2 stroke pipey braaap too. I'm pretty sure pure 2 stroke fans will disagree. It may not be aggressive or raw enough for the purebloods, but they will understand one day ;-) Get one borrowed, you'll love it.
Yeah sorry Nick, KTM 300 tpi was booked so never had a chance to ride it 😣 probably going to be next winter at this rate before I do. How you finding it?
What is the top speed like on these two stokes, do they go fast enough if you are doing more semi, high speed desert type riding?
Thanks a lot for this great video sir!
How is the powerband on this bike ?
I've got the same but six days 300 version but don't get much time to get her out so watching vids like this now and again helps haha
+Scuba Charlie now that's a bike I would love to try! Hoping to borrow the standard 300 tpi early this year
The bloody cows put out more emissions than the bike , get video
+thesheepman220 haha your not wrong!
I can't imagine if KTM plans to introduce a version of 690 Duke with a two-stroke engine....
Aby Mathew Duke 300 TPi For 2020 💪🏼
It's happy to see few manufacturers are still interested in Two strokes.....I love KTM. But I am very sad why no one is interested in making 250 to 400 cc inline 4's or V4's like the old CBR 250RR...
Sounds smooth holding it at steady speeds on the road, is that correct? Carb bikes are usually smooth at some speeds and rough at others.
+Tepco Cycle Repair yes it's super smooth for a two stroke 👍
LCR official KTM brand ambassador
Great vid and review... But I wouldn't go a whole season without changing the gear oil.. IMO
Now, that would be a proper supermoto!!
why would interrupt a 2 stroke with that shit music.
Chops, how was the new TPI 2 stroke on normal tarmac roads? I really want to get a bike for green laning soon. But will need it to do some road work to get to the trails etc.. ideally I’d like something I could also put some supermoto rims on for some summer fun on road, bit like your 701.. So maybe a 400excf is better, but love the idea of a 2 stroke!
With my eyes closed it truly sounds like somebody who's getting exited about cutting timber.
Lamb chops #1
Ive got the ktm 300 TPI really nice bike but ive had some problems with front forks where leaking after 3 hours i dunno why lol..😂
+ee e haha too many wheelies maybe... 😎😎
wouldn't mind having one of these... anyine want to gift one to me?... anyone? no, okay...
I’d change my gear oil more then once a season. Additionally spark plug and clean air filter. That’s all the maintenance you need.
+hello jaja yes your right spark plug air filter but that's the same for the four strokes too.
Good review. Loved the lession especially the cooked sausage in the exhaust...yum.🖒
+Flip haha thanks Flip, the sausage is in relation to the music used.. it's an 80's TV show reference I wouldn't expect many to get it 😀
Would have one in a heartbeat if it weren't for the thieving scum in my area who feel they deserve these bikes more than the person who actually paid for it! Would be awesome if they could do a 500cc 2T EXC .... then add on a set of 17" rims and beef up the front brake and suspension! :P
I HAVE BEEN BLESSED
300 is still pretty good and ktm offers a 6 pot front brake and 17s as accessories
Yeah have to agree would love a new 500 stroker, would buy one in a heartbeat!
hate to pull you up but the previous gen 2 stroke KTM's run 60:1 fuel/oil ratio although some old timers still like to run 50:1 for some extra lubrication :-) I have a 2014 KM 250 stroker :-)
The drawing looks like a guy crapping with a saggy sack reading the news paper on the old fashion bowl above your head tolites 😂
+vaw power haha, I never said I was an artist 😂😂
Omg she is stunning on the eyes from a off-road point.
It does sound a bit beefier than other 2 strokes
How far can it go on 1 tank of fuel?
+Ryanpetrolhead oh tricky to say... Sorry I never made a note but it's pretty good on fuel. No worse than my old 701 I wouldn't say
Best review I've seen on this bike.
+Mark Durant thanks Mark!
Every 100 hrs piston & rings that will get expensive.
It stands in the manual. They want to be sure so the pump not failed
LOL - NO YOU DO NOT !!
You also need new oil pump every time you do piston change.
Yes i agree 2 strokes are easy to maintain if you have some mechanical knowledge & able to maintain yourself ,people estimating the oil mix caused a lot of problems on older bikes & not letting engine cool down .Looks like tech has come a long way. great for week end fun .
yep, piece of cake, 150 hours / 3000 miles will equate to about a years riding or even 2 for some. A lot of guys I know will do enduro & some green laning will only manage 50 hours or so of run time per year. 2-strokes are so easy to maintain
Interested to see whether the leaner oil/fuel mixture will affect wear and stuff? The fizzy runs 20:1 lol, not sure about any of the others. The smoke makes the 2 stroke, and that smell!
2Stroke Squashie better safe than sorry lol
Obbe Zwiers Shes an old gal now, 23,000 miles on original parts. Need to be kind to her lol
2Stroke Squashie who really uses the suggested 20:1 ratio anymore, i always ran 40:1/50:1 in my fs1
+2Stroke Squashie yeah time will tell I guess but without the fuel to water it down wouldn't expect it to be effected 👍
There was a bit of chicken wing going on there... 😆 Lovely bike, long live the two popper!
+ewanoffshore hehe thanks Ewan 😎
My two stroke history. Honda NS125f Honda NS400R Suzuki RGV250 Honda NS250R (project bike I never did) I remember the RGV did 1litre of oil to 2 tanks of fuel. Happy days
Had a Suzuki RG125 gamma back in 1988. Remember riding along side a guy on a NS400R and thinking what an amazing sound that bike made.
Would love the 400, got a 125 myself
You don't see as scared as normal on this 2 poke
Lamb Chop Rides that's fine then when your up here having the duke dyno'd I'll know what to shout when you make good power (gwon chops¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡!!!!!!!!!)
+Karl pickering no Chops is what I prefer 😎😎
Lamb Chop Rides gotta keep calling you chops too can't call you joh....... nope can't do it
Lamb Chop Rides good to hear Mr chops . Gotta show them big balls now your a magazine edition lol.
Yeah getting more confident with these bikes now, love them! :-)
Rolf Harris you are not...not on the drawing front anyway but jury is out for the other matters that can’t be spoken about just now 😂 Good to see you on a two stroke though...a real enduro bike and not this 4 stroke thumper bullcrap
hahaha OMG your outrageous :-)
Oooh I like that chops! Want.😀 Also can you refollow me on twatter. 🙏🏻
Lamb Chop Rides my twitter account went tits up mate and I lost everyone 0 followers.
its lovely Theo, I want one too!! Yeah not sure why Im not longer following you.. Will take a look
@lambchoprides please do more off road/ 2stroke vids . It's much more fun to watch and learn . Especially when you took those enduro classes
Excellent! if you do it, document it!!
I do fancy Ady Smith again.. May try and get on one next spring for a refresher :-) There is also a KTM Adventure bike offroad school, wouldn't mind trying that...
No dead cat on that pipe , nice & speedy quick .
Ring ding ding love a two stroke. I'm surprised that it isn't quite a bit lighter than the four stroke
Zane Zinn my 2017 KTM 350 exc-f I just sold was 108 kgs dry. I’m ordering a 2019 KTM 250 exc TPI ok Saturday and they’re around 100 kgs dry. Dry meaning with no fuel but including oils etc. so it is considerably lighter
Lamb Chop Rides yep
+ENDURO SK apparently because the engine internals are so much lighter than four stroke the rotational mass is massively different hence why they feel so much lighter
They have never been a whole lot lighter they just feel a lot lighter
+Paul Ford yeah 4 stroke is amazing light tbh much more so than the old ones.
Is it 100% street legal, or only for the trails? In Canada they cannot be plated for the road
+Rémi Simard 100% street legal in the UK even has lights 😎
Maybe this will open up options for more interesting 2 stroke engined bikes
To be fair they don't even invest in more interesting 4 stroke projects since that's not where money is at so you are probably right
+Eastern Menace yeah it could, trouble is the new euro regs the next euro 5 even this won't meet it 😣 so companies won't be willing to invest in 2 stroke projects
I might be too young, but I always felt the 2strokes sound like a moped :P
A lot of mopeds were/are 2-stroke so you're not entirely wrong👍
+Jø Wa haha now go wash your mouth out 😂😂
Almost as good as Matt (The workshop ) in the technical part...;))) Great video..again !
Hahaha, I had a feeling you did, has a lot of good videos that "kid" ;) Keep up the good work Mr Chops !
+R Andersson yeah I did watch his explanation 😎😎
Are you ever going to ride it off road?
I'll do a collaboration with you, if you need someone to do some filming and enduro riding with ;)
+Paul Harrison yeah I did take the 500 offroad. Vid somewhere here, impressed how good it was. Problem is getting people to come with you who have them...
Ah but you've had it three weeks so no excuses ! They are a complete waste of time on the road. You will never know just how good they are until you take one green laning and even then it's like taking a machine gun to a knife fight being as it's Ready To Race !
+Paul Harrison the plan was to go proper offroad today but shite weather stops play 😣 I've been down some small dirt lanes but nothing decent unfortunately and goes back weds
'Chops, that's the nuts.
I want it
🙏🏽🤘🏽
k i need it :D
Great review Chops - what were is road manners like? You didn’t really say. Could you use it as a daily commuter and weekend trail machine? Great channel!
+raysaw very good, I'm actually really liking these bikes on the road. Don't think I would bother with a SM again as these handle fine when your used to them plus you can go offroad! Not sure it's an everyday bike as no key so thief would love it!
I would love to have a ride on a two stroke again 😻
+cantfindanamefree Ady Smith Enduro school you can try them all 😎😎
Honda have a fuel injected two stroke in the pipeline as well, hopefully they make a come back even if only for the noise. As usual cool vid 👍
+FireBlade Rider oh do they interesting.. Wonder if theirs is direct injection to meet euro 5.. Otherwise not much point them bothering now!
So is there a chance of new 500 two stroke superbikes with the new injection system?
They make a 500 conversion kit for ktm 300
We wont see any new 2 strokes for long mate. As long as they burn oil, the emissions cant pass in the future (Euro 6 etc)
iD4v1d I think they will need to bring the price down to the peasant market before you find me in showroom.
Whittle Moore The Suter MMX 500 has fuel injection, as far as I know
Lamb Chop Rides I live in hope...
Does it still smell the same?
+TheSedgeGaming um yes but not as prominent as a regular 2 stroke as less oil burnt. Still uses same type of oil 👍
Ktm
Great video chops looking forward to seeing the next one
+Dave C thanks Dave!
Two-stroke back !
2 strokes got me into motorcycles. I still love them but never imagined owning a new 2 stoke again, until now... I want.
+Jim 86 it's very good Jim, can't wait to try the slightly more poky 300 😎😎
That ktm its fucking gorgeous 💯😍
+Tyrone Gray rather nice isn't it 😎😎
Like first comment plus lol I have a KTM 150 2 stroke powwwwwwer
