  • The stupidity in the comment section is unbelievable. So we can't listen to a certify clinical psychologist who has a PhD because he has drug problem? 🤷🏾‍♂️ I can't believe we have such people in our society. Do we really want to go for what everyone is struggling with in private and see if we should listen to you? The best doctor actually do drugs. This is dude saves lives, change lives and transform them. If your ass is to smart to learn please the Skip button is there. Talking about his audience... What kinda bullshit is that🤷🏾‍♂️

  • Maculinity doesnt equal competence. "Beta" males become movie stars because they spend a lot of time alone socially isolated which forces them to develope their intellect and personality. Also they are often times more relatable than a starving juiced up superhero character. The human tendency to judge confident physically attractive people as more competent in other areas of life is a well documented psychological phenomenon called the "halo effect". Unfortunetly confidence and physical stature are not effective predicters of competence. This whole conversation is essentially meaningless because it implies that the only thing that determines a males competence is being sexually desirable. Basically equivalent to saying the only thing that makes a women competent is big tits and a nice figure.

You could make a list of the people who you want to be like, with, or admire And you will also find they are people who control and dominate your mind and your life. That even at times you opposed and resisted them But often it’s only because you had goals feelings purposes thoughts plans intentions etc in common

  • If you want to know answer to this question look up Friedrich Nietzsches critique of Christianity. It perfectly explains why weak equals “good” and how much that goes against nature of men. Peterson probably knows this, as he uses Nietzsche all the time, but he ignores this because it goes against his religious belief.

So people said toss out harmful people all together so we can generate more good however it may come (it game in beta male form.) Which then lead to the power/greatness talk. Be responsible/great or "good" and avoid being "powerful" just to be a tyrant/"harmful." *edit* all I said is true if we can prove when "alpha males" became [too harmful : not enough good]. *2nd edit* in 2007 michael cera was in the released movie called Superbad which is about partying alcohol and sex. Also in 2007 Nancy Pelosi became the first female Speaker of the House. Also the first iPhone was released in 2007. So its got to be one of these three. If not... then I gotta go back to that 2007 wikipedia page which I'm not going to do.

You didn't notice the golf shots you could take, the rock walls you could climb, the trails you could have hiked, the houses you could have built, the programs you could have developed, the anything interest, to develop, which would make you interesting. Not these top down archetypal good old days bull shit hypotheticals about what a person should or has to be. Die Hard was good because it had a good writer and a peak Bruce Willis. Watch the rest of them, they suck. You want some moronic macho shit, Netflix has got that for you too, probably hours of it, but the writing's shit because no one is interested in something solved. People who write and create want to explore new and interesting subjects, or at times return and give a new take on them. It is so very, very dumb, to tell a person they can live how they want but are, or that life should be, or was, better a certain way. People get smarter every second, life is constantly evolving. Get with it or ride the wave. Don't stand in the way of progress because it makes you feel awkward. Yah dumb fucks.

  • There's obviously a massive shortage of action movie stars and ridiculously overblown bravado in the world. It's really weird that every woman doesn't want an ex-football player chad who is destined to become a fast-talking real estate agent or insurance salesman. I think Andrew missed the entire part of his childhood entertainment where underconfident "betas" overcame the bullying "alphas" (a theme so ubiquitous it's hard to think of a more cliché trope). The Neverending Story, The Karate Kid, Revenge of the Nerds, Back to the Future, A Christmas Story, Spiderman, Superman, The Hulk and on, and on and on. The reason this is such a popular theme is that the majority of people hate loud, obnoxious, overconfident, mindless, aggressive people who bully and belittle normal, everyday, unassuming, ordinary, sensitive nice people. The majority of people want to see "betas" stand up to "alphas" because they hate bullies, having been bullied themselves at some point in time. Believing in the concept of rightful "alpha dominance" is "popular group" high schooler mentality that sometimes carries over into early adulthood and, unfortunately, sticks with some for their whole lives.

  • The power conversation should be investigated without the fear of making an obvious point. Power is what is brought into your house by consuming fuel. Make the dinstinction. I think there is a very clear tell in the way the conversation about beta males became a conversation about power. Weakness is powerlessness. Powerlessness is futility, nihilism, despair. And powerlessness is the fuel for pathology. If you want to justify a terrible act you camouflage it in injustice. White people specifically have an aversion to feeling powerful. There is something trained here, and im not sure if its a benifit. I think our stories have mixed signals about power. Superheroes often have superPOWERS that make it possible to save people. Alternatively Frodo Baggins has to destroy the Ring of Power. Technically the latter is a more sophistcated idea and is more about moral virtue than primal force and instinct. and it takes a special, harmless hobbit to sneak through the games of power, to win the game within the game. Capturing the snitch, as it were. In real life, a firearm is often referred to as firePOWER. If you are with you girlfriend in the park one evening, and in the event, a group of men beginning mugging and beating you up, and start raping your screaming/crying girlfriend right before your eyes. Your adherence to being a pacified, subservient specimen of a cruel feminist-paradigm results in Trauma. And that trauma is like a lifelong cancer that eats your time and emotional stability. alternatively, The equalizing power of a firearm creates a dynamic differential to the standard of equality. usually you are outnumbered and the POWER IN NUMBERS overwhelms the single defender. This aversion to power is, imo, a clue. a thread that leads to the heart of our POWER OF WORDS, silence = violence, N-Word double standard, Power is often encouraged in women and minorities and actively discouraged in a certain portion of the population. And as Jordan pointed out, making someone less powerful, otherwise making them victims, and makes them MORE DANGEROUS. Power is just one of these deep concepts like Willpower, or Freedom, Truth, by which niether are self-evidently understood. We are still undergoing a debate about freewill and perception of reality that makes concepts like freedom and slavery uncertain.

  • 1:30-1:38 I get Andrew's idea of us being biologically made to like something, but tbh, I think the industry's trying to normalize the idea that there's more guys out there rather than the "Macho overly testosterone" type of guys that's only been perceived since the 40's I did an English essay about it last year and even about how there was even stereotypes that people are they're trying to kill in the movie industry such as racial stereotypes portrait in the movies though in this case, some girls like chubby guys some girls like skinny guys some like not too extroverted in the spotlight guys and etc Though, I think women were more "biologically" interested in the macho masculine busy douche guys (girls I met like guys that are a bit of dicks idk why) I think because they were predisposed to that in the 50's where men would be dicks an only display things as sports, cars and bad guys in the movies back then, all of that was the thing back then, so it might that they have it ingrain for it was "modernized" and a common aspect of a "man's definition". but things changed now, just like the height of men, and long hair the definition of a man back then is different to what it is now, it's not as strict, but it is bit flexible men's heights back then was around 5'8 & men with long hair were considered gay, and men's LOW voices weren't considered masculine but rather "attractive" now it's gone up with what society perceives men to be the "average" man as 6'0 especially with women's interests are now sometimes about height too and men in the NFL and Music industry have long hair, such as straight or dreads or whatever, so does that make them feminine? or what then? And I believe with women using the phrase "this is a man's..." for anything adds more and more to the checklist of what may be perceived to be "masculine" rather than just an "attractive attribute that the person may carry" and not specifically associated with men, because in that case, black women are masculine because I usually meet more of them with lower mellow voices than others. so it's wonky af for me it only goes as far as I like girls within the "similar biological interests" because I'm a guy and we're genetically usually supposed to be heterosexual to help repopulate. It's in our DNA I guess. After that, my type hits out of the ball park for my "interest" in women is tall girls built like a tank (Goruda girls from Zelda if that helps) I actually hate the stereotypical damsel in distress women that only has us men do the dominant things because I'm trying to have a backup against an armed robber or something bro.. be viable and not a deer in the headlights towards everything is what I think. weak girls are a turn off because I can do everything else on my own (cook, beat my meat if they be petty, make my own money, etc.) after that, a woman is useless nowadays if all they have to offer is coochie and simple human survival skills I like a balance of competence and strength. A person that don't take sh*t from anyone I consider that greatness, maybe because I see that personality trait less than I wish I did like even mechanic girls I hate being the only dominant one in a relationship always making decisions and whatnot for everything. but ya, just my thought on that spot, not trying to be a loony or anything, but it's just a theory.

OR someone who is just a pretty face 'influencer'? someone who has done nothing but politics since their early twenties? automatic disqualfier in my view: someone who everybody just LOVES and sees no wrong with. everybody has weak spots or failures. the ones who don't seem to? • There are still actors that play the cool action heroes till this day so I am not sure what he means when he says Bruce Willis is still the only one saving the day today. There is Daniel Craig, there is Vin Deisel, There is Jason Statham. The list can go on. There are differnt kinds of dudes all over the world in all kinds of professions and the field of acting is no different. Each one has their own strength. There are those who can play the action hero and those who can dive into more dramatic roles and those who can dive into the comedic roles.Take for example, Tom Hanks this guy is a great actor and he holds power. Why? Because he is a great actor but is also a generous colleague he is not a person who is difficult to work with and allows other colleagues to shine in the film's. He is successful in his profession despite not being the typical hollywood leading man(meaning he is no Brad Pitt, no George Clooney nor Bruce WIllis). No one has ever talked bad about him, at least not that I know of. He is a different kind of dude, a differnt kind of person, with a different strength in acting. I dont think the "beta male" has taken over hollywood. The highest grossing movies in hollywood, by which I am referring to Marvel movies, consist of strong Male super heroes and females, as well, who are out to save the day. There is room for everyone in the business whether you personify the stereotypical "alpha Male" or not. Anyway, just my opinion.
