  • Sorry to write a second time. My dad's contracting firm had a '60s vintage Michigan 75 non-articulating loader that I just loved (rear wheel steer). It was the coolest looking machine. It was operated by a wonderful 'good old boy' with the improbable name of Stomper Skeeter. He was a cracker jack on that loader. He would drive it across town backwards as though he were driving a caddy! I loved it so much, that I'd sneak up on that Michigan loader whenever I could and start moving some dirt around. I was just a kid, so it's lucky I didn't drive it into something. I loved the sound of that Detroit Diesel two-stroke engine too. Your loader brings back great memories, even if that Cummins motor is a four-stroke one. These 175's and 275's were used often on large diameter sewer and storm water pipeline projects.

    barry guerrerobarry guerrero2 päivää sitten
  • Those Clark and Michigan loaders used to have GM two-cycle diesel engines. Your Cummins motor sounds like it's probably four-cycle (?). For your reader's sake, here's a working Trojan loader with a Detroit Diesel two-stroke engine. As you might expect, they're higher pitched. The two-cycle engines made them accelerate faster, in my experience. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think two-cycle diesel engines have pretty much been banned for air quality reasons. They were noisy too. fiboth.info/like/videot/h4N_f4TMvKWZnn8

  • 1500 ??? That price right there is worth investing a couple parts and some love ! I think this loader deserve some level of renovation and some care.... Its good to see someone do care about that kind of machines :) 2 years ago i helped retrive and restore Komatsu wa180 after side flip in the woods... don't have details of how this happened but it sat there for 9 years....

  • Matt you can't sell her - she belongs at your place, you can just tell. Besides, you have a dump truck - an excavator - a dozer - a grader, and now a loader. Not to mention the low boy trailer and Autocar combination to haul the complete set around! Nice secondhand gig, with you & your equipment, to make some "toy cash". Just saying.

  • I paid a lot more for a second hand car, a lot lot more, so i think you did just fine, as you say just a quick blow over with a spray gun and skme tyre black on the wheels and it will look ten times younger. I would hate to have to pay for the fuel alone as these things drick it like mad , sso heres in hope you find a buyer, as you say the engines fine and a recon engine for a car will cost you three times what you paid!!!!!!

    John Laccohee-JoslinJohn Laccohee-Joslin3 päivää sitten
  • Love it. Awesome. Any new updates on the old autocar? I know it's off the subject but just curious.

  • I have an old Trojan 3000 loader with a Cummins C195 engine in it. The tractor is a 1967 and is in pretty good shape for the age. It recently started leaking oil. Turned out to be a head gasket. Cummins quit making the gasket in 2001. I have searched all over the internet for a gasket and they just don't exist. Now its either scrap the loader or re-power it. The old iron is cool, but it can be a real headache to keep them running once parts become obsolete. My tractor weighs about 17 tons so scrap value is only about $3000 after a lot of work processing it down to manageable sized pieces, or spend several thousand on a different engine that you can still get parts for. Its kind of like being in-between a rock and a hard place. Not sure what to do....its too good to scrap but not so good that I want to put a bunch of money in it.

    Andy BaylissAndy Bayliss3 päivää sitten
  • My heart sank when he started to talk about scraping her

  • You should use same connectors (I think they make price), new pipe and muff only.

    sluchajciesluchajcie3 päivää sitten
  • Pretty decent flip. Repairs are an ouch!.parts are only made for that loader.like when you buy a fancy camera oh did you want a battery with that. Supply and demand

  • This loader is definitely better than the initial experiences you had with the Killer Grader. Good potential in this machine. Maybe a rock/gravel/mulch yard would want this. Don't think they would overload it, for sure.

  • The asking price is meaningless. What do they SELL for? But I think it's worth quite a lot. That's a nice machine if you need one.
